By downloading, installing, or using the ClipMix Android App ("App") and its associated services ("Services"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the collection, use, storage, and protection of your personal information as described herein.
This Policy governs the processing of personal data collected when you use the ClipMix Android App—including data collected automatically, optional data you choose to share, and data from third-party services (e.g., Google APIs). The ClipMix Team ("we," "us," or "our") adheres to the "data minimization" principle required by Google Play’s Data Safety Requirements (only collecting data necessary to deliver and improve the Services).
We reserve the right to update this Policy to reflect legal changes, Google Play policy updates, or data practice adjustments. Updated versions will be communicated via in-app notification or our official website, and your continued use of the Services following updates signifies your acceptance of the revised Policy.
We collect personal information only for specific, disclosed purposes, categorized in line with Google Play’s Data Safety "Required vs. Optional" framework:
2.1 Required Data
To deliver core functionality, we collect device information—including your device model, Android OS version, unique device identifier, IP address, and network type. This data is essential to ensure the App functions properly on your device, optimize performance, and prevent fraudulent or abusive use. The legal basis for collection is "legitimate interests" (protecting Service integrity) and "contractual necessity" (fulfilling Service obligations), consistent with GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (f).
2.2 Optional Data
You may choose to share optional data to enhance your experience:
Location Data: Used for nearby user matching (if applicable). Collected only if you explicitly grant permission via Android system prompts.
Media Access: Used to upload photos/videos to the App. Collected only if you grant CAMERA or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permissions.
You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device’s settings (Settings > Apps > ClipMix > Permissions) without impacting basic App functionality. The legal basis for collecting optional data is your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
2.3 Automatically Collected Data
When you use the App, we automatically collect usage logs—including feature usage records, error logs, and interaction timestamps. This data is anonymized where possible and used exclusively to troubleshoot technical issues, optimize Service performance, and improve user experience. We do not collect or store content from user interactions (e.g., messages) unless required by law or to address credible safety concerns.
2.4 Permission Usage
We request permissions on a "just-in-time" basis (per Google Play’s Permission Best Practices) to explain their purpose:
CAMERA: Requested only when you first attempt to capture photos/videos for the App.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Requested only when you first upload media from your device’s album.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: Requested only when you enable location-based features (e.g., nearby matching).
We use your personal data solely for the purposes disclosed in this Policy, unless required by law or with your additional consent:
To provide and maintain the Services (e.g., ensuring App compatibility, delivering core features).
To improve and personalize the Services (e.g., optimizing performance based on usage patterns, tailoring feature recommendations).

4.1 Storage Details
Your personal data is stored on AWS servers located in the United States (ISO 27001 compliant, meeting Google Play’s Data Storage Requirements). We retain data only for as long as necessary:
Device information is retained for 180 days after your last App use (or longer if required by law).
Optional data (e.g., location) is retained only while the corresponding feature is enabled, or until you request deletion.
Anonymized usage logs are retained for 90 days.
4.2 Security Measures
To protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction:
Data transmission is encrypted via TLS 1.3.
Stored data is protected with AES-256 encryption.
We conduct quarterly security vulnerability scans and penetration tests.
Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel bound by confidentiality obligations.
4.3 Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach posing risks to your rights (GDPR Article 33), we will notify you via in-app pop-up and/or your provided contact information within 72 hours. We will also notify Google Play and relevant data protection authorities as required by law, and take immediate steps to mitigate harm.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes (compliant with CCPA and Google Play’s Data Sharing Policies). We only share data in limited, necessary circumstances:
Service Providers: Third-party vendors assisting in delivering the Services (e.g., Google Firebase for crash analytics, payment processors for subscriptions) are contractually obligated to comply with this Policy, Google Play’s policies, and applicable laws. They may not use your data for other purposes.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect our legal rights, user safety, or Service integrity.
Business Transitions: In the event of a merger/acquisition, your data may be transferred to the receiving entity (bound by this Policy).
All shared data is anonymized where possible, and sensitive data (e.g., location) is never shared without your explicit consent.

The App and Services are not intended for users under 18 years of age (compliant with COPPA and Google Play’s Minor Protection Policies). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors, and implement age verification prompts (e.g., birth date validation) to prevent minor access.
If we become aware that a minor is using the App, we will immediately restrict access and delete all associated data within 72 hours. If you purchase a premium subscription:
Payment data (e.g., transaction amount, payment method identifier) is processed exclusively through Google Play’s payment system—we do not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment details.
Subscription-related data (e.g., status, renewal date) is retained for the subscription duration plus 90 days (to address billing disputes).

The App may integrate or link to third-party services (e.g., Google Maps, Google Login) with their own privacy policies.
